cable length

Unread post by guydarryl »

Dear Doc,

(sounds like a problem page intro :) )

I am thinking about rearranging the layout in my living room and am wondering about speaker cable/interconnect lengths?
  • I am fairly sure that you have said in the past that it is perfectly ok to use different lengths of speaker cable, does this also apply to lengths of interconnect from the pre to NVA power monoblocks? Say 1m to one amp, 3m to the other?
  • Looking at your interconnects on ebay it looks like you offer up to 3m length, is longer possible/advisable
  • In particular would a 3m length from phono to pre be pushing it?
All just idle thinking at present, just my wife and I feel that it is time for some big changes in the living room - we are bored with the current design/layout.

Regards. Guy.

3 metres of TIS is going to be a tad pricey!

Cheers Doc.

(I don't think my wife would believe the only way to achieve the changes would be with TIS Mark  )

Using NVA interconnects we say up to 5m as they are such low capacitance. High capacitance cables such as litz construction as low as 0.5m max with a passive.
