Just announced by Michael Fremer on Analog Planet. EMI / Universal cut the Mono Beatles last year from the original 1/4" analogue tapes. This came as a gobsmacking surprise after the contrary approach to the Stereo set using 24/44.1 digital masters. It appears Fremer was invited to the sessions and has had to keep this information top secret for over a year. Release date for the reissues (box set and individual albums) is Sept 8th.

Good! Not that I'm a Beatles fan.
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

Re: Beatles Mono Vinyl to be AAA.
Seems as though they used digital transfers to confirm balance etc. and then applied this to the analogues when mastering to acetate. Seems a good idea to me as the crown jewel originals will be left alone until absolutely necessary. To be honest, I wonder if any of us would know if the gently tweaked digital master was used instead to cut the acetates? I mean, the playback and cutting gear is totally different from the originals so the sound would be different anyway.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

Bugger! Now I'll need to go out and buy a reconditioned Dansette to get that totally authentic sixties sound.

I'm sure Mr. Left Twix and Mr. Right Twix would have an opinion. As would Tweedledum and Tweedledee.jammy395 wrote:Can i remove one speaker from the room cause its Mono.....

£300 for 14 albums! I think I can satisfy my nostalgia (if it ever hits me) by dragging the one's I own out of the loft.
