Re: First LP - first CD.
First album - Rockbuster, a CBS double album (at the extortionate cost of 19s 11d) featuring many of their top acts of the time not to mention many 'lesser' names. It's still a great album and I still own it.

First CD, I think it was probably Elton John - Sleeping With The Past

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...

First LP - The Monkeys eponymous album (Followed by Sgt Pepper's, then Cream Live at the Philmore, I think)
First CD - now you're asking. I think it was Gorecki Symphony Number 3 but it might have been A meeting by the River - Vishwa Mohan Batt and Ry Cooder
First Single Probably something like Reparata and the Delrons Captain of your Ship

Re: First LP - first CD.
My nephew was supposed to be EMI's English version of Jimmy Osmond, but he made a couple of record and then sunk from view and was dropped by EMI still only 13 years old. His life was made a misery by the other kids at his school who called him "top of the flops", he became a depressive and turned to drugs in his late teens and died in his early 30's from heroin and anti depressants overdose. There were a couple of BBC documentaries about him.wiicrackpot wrote:1st record ~ The Osmonds 'love me for a reason'
