NVA P50

Post by mules »

I am in a position to buy a secondhand P50 and wanted to ask a quick question.

I have a Yaqin MS-22B valve pre-amp which I would like to use the phono stage through the P50 to my Denon POA2400 power amp. The reason is that I also have a CD player and SACD player I'd like to plumb in through the P50 and the Yaqin only has one non-phono input available.

Does this sound reasonable?

Regards

Myles

Yes no problem, just use the Yaqin as a phono stage.

Only thing to remember when using a passive pre is use low capacitance interconnects.

Reason - variable series resistance and fixed parallel capacitance makes a tone control. The resistance is the VC, so then add high cap cables and as you turn the volume down you turn the treble down.

I have a set of GH1000D I/Cs which I understand to be low capacitance. Is this all ICs, both input and output that we are talking here?

Wow, its amazing how a slipped fingar could cause another question. The Yaqin is a MS-12B not a 22B. Mine is a phono stage with pre-amp built in for CD as well, one o/p. Is this going to cause any issues?

Just how I like it prof. The P50 will be with me tomorrow, but I'm moving house next week so it'll be staying boxed (except for a cursory check) until I'm in the new house.
