Re: Time the Slurpers are killed off
It is way beyond that in Hi-Fi it is well over 50% of the market that is criminal slurping.

Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 2:27 pm But the market is not free, you are FORCED to pay dealers margins on just about all products. That has been MY POINT from the start of the thread.
So you still stick 50% of your money in the dealers pocket, for what tell me. Do you see direct sellers like me giving less service or opportunity to hear product. We all have the freedom to be eeeeediots!
Yes.
And the freedom to buy from you, other direct sellers, second hand, etc.,.... Personally speaking I don’t feel in anyway forced to pay 50% dealers margins. Indeed I’m very pleased that free market has enabled the likes of you and NVA to grow.

DQ and AssHats see my point, no one is forced to buy HiFi, as I said, if it was food then it would be a different matter. Just because you don’t like something, does not make it criminal or even immoral. People can chose to pay dealer prices because they may feel that they want HiFi shops in their town instead of just bookies and charity shops, or they may chose to buy direct from someone like yourself, they may chose to make their own, or they may chose to live without a hifi of any sort.

Yes you are if you want to buy that product you have no choice but to be ripped off.
Re: Time the Slurpers are killed off
To what extent are you voicing moral outrage at dealer mark-up, to what extent are you suggesting actual changes in law / regulations to limit it?

ADMIN EDIT - my post was admin comment so has to be directed to you. For questioning admin on open forum you now have a strike. This is a NVA forum not an open forum you do not troll me or NVA. This has been building for a while in your posts, perhaps you should question why you want to post here, because if you carry on trolling you will be gone.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 1:28 am You understand nothing, and especially nothing about me and nothing about NVA, you are just proving to be a troll. It has been explained many times but you ignore it, classic behaviour of a troll.
EDIT - any further posts will be removed.

Re: Time the Slurpers are killed off
Neither, it is a discussion. I had this opinion long before I went direct, basically I was waiting for the opportunity, when the internet came it gave the opportunity. I have been disgusted by dealers since the Linn / Naim bollocks and the flat earth. What you don't see is they rip-you off and they also rip us off. Try and get them to pay their bills
Apart from a few of them, and even they largely got corrupted, they groom you as they want your money, some are very good at it like incoherent, their only purpose is to get as much money off you as possible, as much SLURP as possible. But they pretend to be your best friend. You think they care about your music, if they can con you they will.
They are basically a bunch of spivs. The ONLY one I have any respect for now is Richer Sound, and he plays some games, but is normally better value than the spivs.

Well, buy someone else's product then. If enough people want that product but not at the price the dealer is selling at then either the manufacturer will change to cut out the dealer or someone else will make a cheaper equivalent in China and sell them direct with 220v transformers in them.Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 2:50 pm Yes you are if you want to buy that product you have no choice but to be ripped off.
I am happy to wave my Socialist flag when it comes to utilities and essential products, but I see no problem with letting the market control the sale of HiFi.
Are you suggesting its my right to demand that Aston Martin sell me a db11 for £15,220 because that’s what Ford charge for a Fiesta?

Re: Time the Slurpers are killed off
Very silly analogy that misses the point completely. Very few cars are prestige sales, go look at your friends prices virtually all are a rip off, not Aston Martin customers. The Hi-Fi industry is corrupt - full stop. Cars a few are very high priced but not high margin, you need to look at this as it kills your analogy.
You cannot apologise for them, who are you to tell their customers to buy something else. It is the rip-off that needs to be dealt with not removing peoples choices.
Where have I said people cannot buy into the slurp, I am simple commenting on it with my opinion and hopefully opening a few minds.

Re: Time the Slurpers are killed off
Understood. I was just wondering by which method the slurpers might be “killed off”?
From what I can see, NVA does use eBay and PayPal. Both of which, as (relatively-low-but-not-zero-slurping) market-place middle men, clearly bring something of value to NVA and to NVA customers.
