Re: (in)FAMOUS SLURPS
Some people are old, infirm, with poor eyesight, own older gear that could probably do with a touch up. To be honest it doesn't seem excessive.
Though I've still yet to hear/see anyone remove/refit a rega bearing without scraping it

The old and infirm with poor eyesight...that lift the deck, jump in their car and drive to the shop?keepitsimplestupid wrote: ↑Fri Apr 20, 2018 4:15 pm Some people are old, infirm, with poor eyesight, own older gear that could probably do with a touch up. To be honest it doesn't seem excessive.

On dealer margins they could offer a free check up charge for parts only.

It's not a rip of. It is providing a service which costs. You make your own choice

Re: (in)FAMOUS SLURPS
Everybody (well most) are looking angles to make themselves some money, £130 fuses that are dangerous, illegal and a complete waste of money is by far the worst. This is mild compared with that. It is seen as an opportunity because of the Linn rip-off service / upgrade / set-up that Linn dealers partake in, now that really is a rip-off slurp.
Re: (in)FAMOUS SLURPS
I have been looking for a decent budget MM or MI cart and looked at a Nagaoka MP-110 which was advertised recently at approx. £108.99 and now I see it is now listed on ebay at £139.95!
..sounds like someone (the distributor?) has decided to make some money!

Wow, that's not much for a couple of elastomer feet and two strips of bent iron.
I reckon you could make them from ebay purchased Chinese feet and a bit of metal for under £100
