Re: Metrum
My Musette arrived today, and I've listened to 8 albums on CD, some FLAC via the Brennan and streamed some Tidal via USB. There's not a lot to add to what Fretless has already said, except to say that out of the box it is just on another level to the DACs I have used and currently own. The optical and coax audio performance is on a par, which is a new experience for me (optical has always sounded more clinical and colder than coax on other DACs). THE USB connection is a HiFace add-in and is also very good indeed.
It is superb so far, but more listening required

Re: Metrum
Metrum Menuet - Four transient processors, independent power supplies for each channel.
Do we need to ask why he's returning the Musette ?
I know where the Metrum offices are - think I'll have to break in and nick one.

Re: Metrum
I'm just trying to make my system base as good as I can. So the last step is the new A80s I am collecting from Doc at the weekend. I won't be upgrading it for some time, so I thought I may as well get the Menuet, which offers a lot of the performance and design of the Parvane at a much reduced cost. I am keen to find out how the FPGA and double the amount of Transient modules improves the performance. I exchanged e-mails with the owner of Metrum this morning and he has said it's the best option from a performance/cost perspective.savvypaul wrote:You had me there, for a moment...mais, pourquoi?
I have returned the Moon 180 - it was nice, but I'm just not convinced it is worth the expense. I am going to consider other streamers of course, but in the interim I will be making do with CDs and Tidal via USB.
