Transfer Station Blue: Looking on Discogs here:

http://www.discogs.com/Michael-Shrieve- ... ster/29711

It seems that no recent versions are available on CD or LP.
My CD copy is the Fortuna records edition from 1986.
SQ is fairly good, clear and dynamic.

If you want it - grab any copy you can find (at a reasonable price) because it is a rarity. :grin:

Edit: Amazon do offer a CD-R version via the webstore.
FLAC download available from Presto Classical UK.

Stumbled across this over the weekend as a potential source. It's a German Sonos alternative and seems fully featured. Not a bad price: http://www.teufelaudio.co.uk/raumfeld-a ... p9527.html

I was just reading the reviews of Transfer Station Blue at Amazon where one reviewer mentions the Richard Wahnfried track Druck as being the same as Communique - Approach Spiral. I wouldn't know as I haven't heard it but the track called Pressure on this compilation sounds like it has sampled C-AS
Main System. Amp - Luxman LV-120, CD - Pioneer PDX505 & Hitachi DA 401. Turntable - Trio KD-2055/Denon DL-110 & Ortofon VMS20E. Cassette Deck - JVC KD A55. Speakers - Arcam Alpha connected with NVA LS3.

Headphone System - Little Dot Mkiii headphone amp, various vintage CD players into NVA P50 with Sennheiser HD600 and Beyer DT 880

I just had a quick listen to both 'Communiqur - Approach spiral' and 'Druck' from the album 'Tonwelle' released under the pseudonym of Richard Wahnfried.

The 'Tonwelle' version sounds to use the same synth and percussion track but the guitar parts have been replaced by, I think, Manuel Gottsching (Ashra).

Richard Wahnfried was the alias used by KS to do more mainstream music in collaborations with other musicians. He never confirmed it - but guitarist Karl Wahnfried is thought to be Carlos Santana, who had to use another name for contractual reasons. Michael Shrieve was a member of Santana in the early 70's.

The track on that ambient disc will probably be an edit of the 'Tonwelle' track, 'druck' is german for 'pressure'. :guiness;

If there was a competition for the weirdest musical line-up ever it would probably be won by Japanese percussionist Stomu Yamashta who put together the band 'GO' in the mid-70's. Featuring: Klaus Schulze - synths, Al Di Meola - guitar, Michael Shrieve - drums and Steve Winwood - vocals & keys. They recorded 2 studio albums and played a few remarkable concerts, wonderfully captured on the 'Go Live in Paris' album.

Here's a track featuring Winwood's soulful vocals and a searing guitar workout from Meola:
Go - 'Crossing the Line'

Just spotted this George, pretty well the same functionality as a Sonos Connect - but half the price (costs more than a Pi, though!). :grin:

Ronin, cheers :guiness;

Back on Kraftwerk. Take a look at vintage live footage on YouTube. they were having a ball and the slightly 'looser' live feel to some of the really 'robotic' tracks on their LP's took them to new heights I believe. Florian smiling and letting audience members close by 'play' the 'Pocket calculator' - priceless...
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way...The time has gone, The song is over, Thought I'd something more to say...
