Re: Speaker mods and tweaking - anyone fancy a challenge ?

I removed the wadding from 2 speakers - some tatty Mission 70mk2s and my newish Usher s-520. I was going to have the Missions modded by Russ Andrews to replace the crossover with a single capacitor (something they were promoting at the time, and still are, I think) but the charge for this was around...

Re: NVA Reviews (THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR STASHING REVIEWS)

CUBE1 Review I've owned quite a few brands of speakers over the course of the last 30 years, in roughly chronological order: BLQ1, Epos ES14, Linn Kans (3 times), Heybrook HB1, Mission 70mk2, Rega Ela Mk1, Impulse H6, Royd Eden, Mission 753, Usher s-520, Harbeth P3ESR...and probably a few more that ...

Re: Royd Audio (new)

Sitting here listening to a pair of Cube 1, I have to say that they are much more than decent. They deserve a much wider audience. Too many folks just don't know what they are missing...

Re: BMU considerations

Thanks Doc & George, 1m pairs would be longer than I need so I'll probably get 50cm lengths from Doc when the time comes. I just need to decide if I'll go straight to TIS or get SSP first  The SSP walks all over my £200 Graham Slee cable and is easily the match of my £550 Van den Hul cab...

Re: Metrum

Value is obviously an individual concept, but you could look at The Beresford Caiman SEG for £300, the Cambridge Dac Magic Plus for the same or the Cambridge Dac 100 for like half that. The DAC3 for around £100 and that's before you even get into 2nd hand. Loads of choice. Hi George. Has your Metru...

So until 'Doc does Dac'...who, if anyone, is providing real value in this area?
