Re: Small narrow, attractive floorstanders

Maybe a bit late but FWIW. I also very much liked the Arro's and had them at home to try. I would have kept them but when I wanted to turn them up a bit they got a bit confused and hard to listen to. Re: SACD

Terry, Interesting about the TFS not being able to play/rip SACD's. I think I have approximately.....er one SACD in my collection and managed to rip it using a laptop and external CD drive using DBPoweramp (same ripping engine as TFS) onto my music PC (not the laptop). Re: RUMOUR HAS IT.........Any good uns.

A bit OT but what happened to those digital record decks which were being developed in the eighties ? I think it was an attempt to head off the threat of the CD player and not render your LP collection extinct.

Re: Dac

Been doing some research on DAC's and many people seem to agree its not the DAC chip that makes the difference but the stuff around it. Power supplies, output stages etc and thats what you excell at Richard. DAC's using a particular chip seem to vary in price from under a hundred quid to many thousa...

Re: NVA case materials

Not sure about cost of acrylic, ptobably more than it appears but corrian et al is very expensive. From memory its probably over £100 pers sq M. Add to that the cost of machining edges, corners etc. I would be suprised if its like wood to work with, more like stone or granite. Could make some very c...

When i select the tape input and turn volume down or switch power amps off i can hear music in my headphones just fine. Just wanted ...
