Left v right brain

Unread post by Lindsayt »

I've just taken this test:

https://testyourself.psychtests.com/testid/3178

I scored 54. Which indicates that I'm fairly balanced between my left and right brain with a slight bias towards the right.

I crave dynamic freedom when listening to music at home. I'm wondering if it's possible that people that are biased towards their left brains tend to be less sensitive to dynamic compression? With them being more attracted to sound reproduction that prioritises detail resolution / presenting lots of detail?

Or if there's something else going on that attracts some people to polite type hi-fi sound?

Also, apparently the very finest classical musicians tend to be heavily biased towards their left brains.
Whilst songwriters tend to be biased towards their right brains.

Isaac Newton was heavily left brained.
Albert Einstein was heavily right brained.
Leonardo da Vinci was balanced, highly developed left and right.

30% ( medical estimate as a result of viewing my MRI ) of my left brain as died as a consequence of exposure to blood . I continue - through the mechanism of neuroplasticity - to develop . I suspect unused facets of my right brain is the source of my new skills and dexterity .

Clearly therefore I'm heavily dependant on my right brain which makes my score of 52 to be curious
