Re: Cost of living crisis
I looked at houses for sale in my area last night. £500K+ for 4 bed detached in the local villages. Unsustainable imo. How any young people afford to get a house is beyond me.

4-bed in Sevenoaks, average price - terraced, start around £4-500k to detached £1.25M to roughly "£how fucking high do you want to go?".

Re: Cost of living crisis
Do the wages around there make up for the utterly ridiculous prices ? There may be a lot of overpaid people living there but where do the plebs live ? You know the civil servants, carers, bus drivers ?

It's a complete cross-section, Stu. Sevenoaks is a huge Tory stronghold but has its fair share of council housing too. It's viewed as "posh" but only bits of it are actually posh if you know what I mean. I mean, I live there FFS, and not in one of he posh parts.

Re: Cost of living crisis
Well that post killed the thread.
On a lighter note - Jonathan Pie tickets are £33 for York Barbican Centre. I think he's really funny but not sure about the price.

Re: Cost of living crisis
I imagine it would be £33 well spent but that's only my opinion

Re: Cost of living crisis
A 2 for 1 offer came up on Show Film First, so I wasn't the only one who was baulking at £40.savvypaul wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 1:16 pm Saw the Damned in Sunderland last October for £24. Their gig in a few weeks at Newcastle is £39 by the time you add on the fees. Giving it a miss at that price, even with The Nightingales supporting. Gutted to miss it, but you've gotta draw the line somewhere.
Got a couple of last minute tickets apps on my phone, hoping an offer will come through.

£39 to see The Kaiser Chiefs at Bridlington Spa (ha ha). Crap band, even worse seaside resort.
