The rules about noise disturbance between 11pm and 7am are a lot more stringent than at other times and you should make a complaint to the council. Some years back a right c**t moved next door to us and there were a lot of issues. One of them was his keeping chickens in the back garden. At first light they would make a terrible racket and wake us up. This was June so it was well before 7am. I complained to the council and they offered to send me sound measuring equipment to keep a record of the noise and times. The council informed him of my complaint and the noise instantly stopped. The threat was enough.

I have an app on my tablet called "Spectroid". No idea if it's available for apple devices. It'll tell you the intensity and frequency of anything you can hear (assuming of course your microphone isn't broken, either by design or happenstance).

Any spectrum analyser can do that, to a point. I use RTA Audio which is useful if you know what you are seeing but ideally it should be optimised for the specific microphone. There is a lot of noise below 50Hz which is generally inaudible so pinpointing the source is extremely difficult.

Yes, but you can show contrasting quiet/noisy screen captures to the council. They like evidence.

Oh well. The Schumann Resonance device is no use, for blocking or overcoming the noise intrusion from next door's (quiet) washing machine. Never the less it will still be used.
I think the neighbours machine must be putting out infrasonic sound that, as mentioned, due to hypersensitivity, targets my heart and to a lesser degree, eyes. Sleepless nights.
The council have been informed more than once, which unfortunately has fallen on deaf ears. ! (The situation with the council is a lot more complex than I will mention here and kinda dull)
Is there any way that the infrasonic sound can be shielded ? Or rather can I be shielded from it ? ( I don't think it's a vibration through the structure as I feel nothing when in bed) It's 25-30 feet distance from neighbours machine.

Am new on this forum, I realize this thread is a year old but I just completed a longish journey/investigation into the effects of the Schumann frequency 7.83Hz to sound and hearing. This is for the acoustic version of the Schumann frequency 7.83Hz. You might be surprised what I found out.

Indeed, you can take a screenshot.

Just retaliate...my next-door neighbors are an arse, banging, stamping on the stairs, banging on my bedroom wall. Just waking me up all the time.
So to rectify the situation i got myself a lump hammer... Waited until it was nice and quiet and then went to the joist the connect out houses and give it a good bang.
You could hear the scum jump...!
This went on for a few weeks while I got a couple of REL TX5s and there on there wall.
Any hasel of them and i just give then a reminder when there in bed.

If that's fails then just shoot there cat.

Edit....dont tell the council you've done that!
