A fair price is what someone is happy to pay for and to my way of the thinking what the seller paid for is immaterial

Looking back through my records, the AP10P was listed at £330 in 2018. I don't know if this particular unit has been upgraded, since.

My near mint Garrard 401 sold for around £35 new in it's year of manufacture, but I was very pleased to find it for 'only' £400 a couple of years ago.

Price is, ultimately, between the seller and the buyer, but there is nothing wrong with another member providing information (even if they choose to do it in an abrasive manner  ).

I understand that concept of supply an demand but where there is no shortage of supply I don’t think demand exceeds supply. In which case, someone selling the same thing for a lower price is more likely to make the sale.

I read it that you would be staggered if anyone paid that sum.

So, I posted confirmation that the AP10P sold for £330 in 2018, on at least one occasion.

Do you have evidence that the seller paid less, or are you just guessing from a position of ignorance?

Secondhand items - pricing debate

Unread post by savvypaul »

There was a debate about pricing on the AP10P sales thread posted by @montechristo358.

Thank you to DQ for starting the debate, and thank you to those who commented. However, I'm convinced that it would be better etiquette for that debate to take place on a separate thread. This will leave the original sale thread open for the seller and potential buyers to exchange information, and allow any debate to continue freely.

The 'debate' posts from that thread will appear on this thread, above this post.
