Any fans of Frank?

I have about fifteen albums, mainly the Capitol years. Especially love the work with Antonio Carlos Jobim, appreciate that's on Reprise. Some great melancholic late night listening.

"When you've loved and lost the way Frank has, then you, uh, you know what life's about."

Great quote from Spinal Tap above.

Mind you, losing Ava Gardner would take a bit of getting over.

I have a huge amount of respect for Frank. His voice wax just amazing, like velvet and his timing was first class.

I can listen to him no problem if it happens to be on but I usiually just chose not to. The music does not grab me for some reason. It is very cool though 8-)

I once had a short phase of listening to the 'Crooners' but Sinatra didn't feature there, never really got on with him. I prefer Tony Bennett and Andy Williams who were (IMHO) better singers with more pleasing voices.

One of the very few LPs my parents had back in the 60's was a Sinatra album. Probably 'In the Wee Small Hours'. They weren't big music enthusiasts.

One of the first singles I ever bought was by Sinatra, "Love's been good to me".

When I was a teenager in ths 80's and driving tractors in the fields, my dad's John Deere 3040 (I loved that tractor) only had one cassette that was always in it and that was Glen Campbell. Oh the memories

Willie Nelson released an album of Sinatra songs last year. It's the only Willie LP that I haven't bought.

I put it down to him contracting coroonervirus...
