Cable identification
Hi all
I have a pair of A40 power amps that have been sitting a couple of years around since before some small members of the family arrived and unfortunately I need to make some space. Before I explore eBay for these I wondered if someone could help me with some speaker cable identification as I really cannot recall what they are, and cannot locate any purchase information. I recall the colours of the banding may identify them? As photos here they have white banding at the amp end. Any clues?

Re: Cable identification
Assuming you bought it from Richard , it could be LS1 or ls3 . It deosnt look thick enough to be a model higher up the range. But I could be wrong.
Unfortunately the only way to be sure is to count the individual cable.

Re: Cable identification
Badger as just put some LS6 up for sale. It could even be that. So my revised opinion is that I don't have a clue.

These were recently sold on e-Bay as LS3, if that's any help.

Re: Cable identification
White heat shrink - as far I know - was only a LS5 identyficator - looks rather old - but speaker cables do not deteriorate with time usually ;]

Re: Cable identification
Surely Heavy metal music wears the cables out sooner because the notes are heavier?Ithilstone wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 8:03 pm but speaker cables do not deteriorate with time usually ;]

I wouldn't think the storm in Beethoven's 6th Symphony does them much good either.BadgerBeerIsBest wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 9:20 pmSurely Heavy metal music wears the cables out sooner because the notes are heavier?Ithilstone wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 8:03 pm but speaker cables do not deteriorate with time usually ;]
