The PC is included in the diagram because I use it to control Volumio most of the time and to add more albums to the NAS (Network Attached Storage) boxes, which are set up in a RAID** 1 configuration. All RAID 1 means is that there are two 2TB disks in each box, and the same data (e.g. a new album) is written to both of those disks at the same time. That way if one disk fails the other will still hold all of my music. I've split them between classical and non-classical albums, as you can see, for no other reason than that it made sense to me. to do it that way when I bought the second NAS.
The ASUS is connected to my DAC, and so the amp etc via one of its USB ports.
