Just discovered that you can rip the audio off a DVD using the (free) VLC media player.
It has an option where you can convert the audio to MP3 / FLAC or audio-CD-standard WAV.
Sound quality is excellent.

Thank you, good to know. Just bought the 'The Colour of Spring' LP by Talk Talk. There is an audio DVD with it and I was wondering how to rip the music.

Hi Fretless, it worked fine, I did it to WAV (CD in VLC) and the quality really is excellent. Only issue is that you can't switch between tracks - it's one big file. But I don't care. It fits my listening behaviours. So many thanks again!

Good to hear Hannes. You can use Audacity to edit the big file into individual tracks if you need to.
