Whitney Housten has been inducted, FFS.

I believe Madona was also inducted in the past.

Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest and Motorhead, three hugely influential bands, were nominated but did not make it.

Don't forget those well-known rock 'n' rollers Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, N.W.A., Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Tupac Shakur, and (also this year) the Notorious B.I.G. They've all been inducted too.

The phrase "Rock & Roll" has been a bit fluid since year two of the H.O.F. when Keith Richards inducted Aretha Franklin. Personally I'd have seen The Sweet inducted before Whitney.

Suzi Quatro was also annoyed that they keep refusing to acknowledge her importance in the 70s.
