Surprise surprise

Unread post by Ordinaryman »

At Christmas we received an Amazon echo from my daughter "bless her" as I possibly drove her and her brother mad with my music constantly being played in the house. Since then it's been in the kitchen and used regularly , what surprised me was how easy it is to listen to. Not " hifi" I know but remarkably pleasant for such a small device, it also has the ability to sound good wherever you are in the room. How do they do that? Plus I get voice control  not suggesting anyone should get one :-? But it is far better than the "radio" that was there before! Currently listening to " smooth jazz " not everyone's single malt but heyho I like it.

I have an Echo and as you say its quite good but a step up is the Sonos One speaker, paired (stereo) they are more capable than a department store hifi. We now have several Sonos One speakers but only the one Echo. The sonos One is however more expensive.

What are you doing sleeping in the kitchen?

I have been tempted by a couple of Sonos speakers for my house, but as long as my Bose sounddock keeps working, I don’t see the need.
