Just spent an interesting time reading these older posts and I'm curious,as anyone here tried reversing one speaker connection? As the doc suggested? My room comes under the awkward one described, door opening, L shaped etc. So gave it a try! Be interested to hear from anyone else's who has also tried it? :geek:

Yes, just reverse phase on one speaker, RD was referring to cubes/cubetts so don't know about other speakers. He said it may improve the sound in awkward rooms? I've tried it, but would be interested in others opinions first If there are any?,only takes a moment to do. Give it a try?

I had over powering bass and position didn’t help so I reversed and there was an immediate calm- didn’t stay with it long as I eventually took the up firing 12” out of my system

Doc did it when he had a similar positioning problem to the one you describe. Worth trying.

Remember to unplug speaker cables from the amp(s) first: https://nvahifi.co.uk/pages/user-instructions

Let us know how you get on...

Peter, was the problem bass nodes or driver in too small a box ? A lot of those old drivers have a very high VAS and so need a big enclosure to avoid big bass peaks . Or maybe the room is too small .

I tried reversing the leads on one Cube in my smallish listening room. It didn't work for me.
