Lately, we've been using the wooden stands for our Cubes without their spikes - just using isopucks between the Cubes and the top of the stand. It first happened because we forgot to bring the spikes to last year's WAM show. On a concrete floor, you might find you prefer the sound without spikes (I think I do) if you already have the isopucks. Worth a try...
