Thankfully had a longer break from the rain this afternoon. Have noticed that the river is the highest it has been for nearly two years on my walks. It was not much more than a trickle during the summer and was low during the cold spell earlier in the month.

We have had torrential rain for hours with thunder and lightning. Yesterday was not much better and the forecast is bad for tomorrow.

Woke from my slumber at 3 this morning and took a look out of the window - still having a gentle flurry in Bristol at 10 :)
