A little known fact about lawns. The shorter you mow it the shorter the roots which means come summer yours will be the first one to go brown in the drought. Amazing stuff grass, it grows from the base not the blade tips

I have always set the blades to the lowest level, the principal being that the shorter the grass the longer it will be until the lawns need mowing again. The exceptio is the first cut of the year when the grass is at its longest, but I only go one notch up.

At least yours is working - mine is 'resting' until I can get it fixed..

Regrettably the grass isn't.
Won't start ?
Nope - just needs a clean & service, my fault should have got it done earlier.

I totally get why you do it that way (many do the same) but I could never do it that way myself. It stresses the grass plant and I bet it looks more like a cricket square than a lush green lawn.

If it's just a clean and service then do it yourself and save yourself some money.

Having pet tortoises is a consideration. They like it short and can move a lot faster.

Servicing anything driven by petrol is all about comfort zones. Anything electrical (up to a point) and woodwork I'm happy with. Engines - of any type are a mystery to me, and I won't touch them. some things you understand on a practical level, other things you don't. Unfortunately for me whilst I 'know' how it works, the actual practicalities of it elude me. They always have since school.

Hey ho.

I had a gig at a local pub last night. In the break between sets we went in the garden for some fresh air. Had to take a pic of the clouds and this was just a small section of it. Made me want to listen to The Orb live.
