CEX

Always browsing the second shops like cex & cash converters for interesting items, came across a Primare V10 dvd/cd player- good condition but no remote and is scart out for dvd- I decided not to bother but wondered if anyone else has a single player or have any insight on them.
I remember the universal players of yesteryear and don’t know if such equipment still exists.
Cheers

RD regarded DVD players as generally having a good sound, and Primare are well-regarded. That player could be a bit of a bargain and you can always pick up a universal remote to run it.

It’s going back to the bulky scart cable that put me off the most

Most modern TV's don't take Scart anymore. It's all HDMI nowadays.

Looking here at the back of the V10 it does have Composite output and S-video along with digital audio coax and optical. Pretty good actually.

Even the later Primare V25, DVD26, and DVD30 didn't have HDMI, only SCART and Component Out. It's not until you get up to the BD32 Blu-ray player (2012) that you start finding HDMI, and those are still probably selling for silly money as they were three-and-a-half grand new. As a brand, I like Primare very much. My second system has a Primare amp and CD player in it.
