Pretty well all of them! I loathe and detest socialism with a passion. And before anybody asks, our household income is significantly less than median UK household income. But we do not smoke, we drink very little, never go abroad, do not eat out etc. etc. It's called self-reliance and thrift, along with not whining about how unfair it is that X earns so much more than Y etc. Socialism is, IMO, the politics of spite and envy and uncomfortably closely related to its kissing cousin, Fascism.

Not that New Labour were really 'socialist', but perhaps it's no coincidence that Labour's 'Third Way' was directly pulled from Mussolini's 'Third Position' -economic policy that is neither communist nor capitalist. Those other 1920's socialists headed by Mr Hilter (Python reference) were not dissimilar.

Savvypaul: pretty well all taxation policy for starters, especially on direct taxation; pretty well all policies on taking any industries back into public ownership; I find a lot of the 'equality' stuff pretty vacuous too. I remain unconvinced that the NHS and education are hugely underfunded, with both being extraordinarily inefficient in places (BTW, my better half & I spent the bulk of our careers in the public sector - health & education respectively).

I thought you might chip in DQ! I have my sources, but will follow your advice not to repeat them for fear of making you look foolish in turn

Seem to remember them saying they would respect the referendum result. Fat chance. Also their spending plans would put us back to 2010 in a year. Also I don't believe they like Jews which reminds me of comparisons with someone else.

Classicrock, I pretty well agree with your observations. I know that Labour would like to blame the disastrous state of the economy in 2010 on the
bankers. However, the public finances were heading horribly in the wrong direction well before the proverbial hit the fan in 2008. Naturally this was not helped by Brown's catastrophic financial regulatory changes. It was of course natural to blame the bankers (with some justification), who were also the target of both Marx and Hitler. Marx was clearly antisemitic - "The social emancipation of the Jew is the emancipation of society from Judaism" for example.
