Re: Concrete Cube
Alan Elsdon in the late 1970,s used concrete tube for road drain and mounted Lowther driver in them they sounded amazing.
It can be done so imagine it.
Re: Concrete Cube
Yeah it looks like a few companies have dabbled with concrete speakers over the years. I would imagine transporting them economically and without damage has made them an unviable commercial option.

Re: Concrete Cube
From a quick google search yes I think they did. A few have tried it over the years. It will be interesting to see how the concrete cabinets work along side the docs speaker principles.

Re: Concrete Cube
Just a quick update. I should hopefully be popping to see a metal fabricator today to see if they can make me a steel mould for casting the panels and I am also looking into the possibility of making or having someone make a rubber casting mould. If the rubber moulds are reasonably priced then they will be the way forward.

Re: Concrete Cube
Rubber? Liquid concrete, even in small amounts is capable of exerting a lot of pressure, as many carpenters have found to their cost! Even if it only pushes the middle out a mm or so it will look shit. I'd go for steel if you can afford it.
