I just spent no more than 30 seconds cursorily looking over the thread titles at Audio Asylum's "rock" section.
And I can with surety now declare that AA clots are everymuch as defective (musical-knowledge-ingly) as you lot.
Total kindergarden.

I take it as a compliment when I'm told that I don't have in depth knowledge on any subject, including music (and hi-fi).
I don't have the knowledge to score anywhere near 36 on Ken Bruce's Radio 2 Pop Master quiz. And yet some poeple do.
That's because I'm a Generalist and some people are Specialists.
I know a bit about a variety of subjects. I never get to know a huge amount on any subject because I get bored of it and move onto something else. Variety is the spice of my life.
I don't look down on Specialists. If they have that much passion for a single subject area, that's great.
And at the same time I don't look down on the All Rounders. If they have some knowledge and skills in a variety of things then their flexibility and versatility is great too.

I had a look and many of the threads do not fall under a definition of what i would term rock.
