I thought those Atacama 'SE24' were superb made stands & a lot for such a small outlay.. I used to fill them with that totally dry Sand you get from the early learning centre..

It is a very complicated shape to measure, what dimensions do you want.

The width and depth of the upper plate, the total height and the attacment solution please! You mentioned the weight in a thread, so I can calculate the other dimensions. Thanks!

FFS no I can't. I can't even move the bloody things they are so heavy. Somewhere in the archive there is a photo, why is it so important / specific, these are not ordinary speakers, do what fits your room and what looks nice to you. These are only good because they are solid and they work with all the Cube speakers, even doc mods point and squirts.

Following the discussion on speaker stands this thread is worth reviving. It is a complicated science and there is more than one solution. Mass with one single thick column (post on first page) works well for me. I bought these stands twenty years ago when they were all the rage and they were an improvement on the far more flimsy, also metal, thin single column stands I was using previously. It is interesting how thinking has changed in the past twenty years. The cynical side of me is leans to the opinion that recent trends are a result of manufactures reducing costs, but not prices, similar to many modern speaker designs.

Do what works for you... but you couldn't pay me to use heavy metal stands.

That relates to my system (Cubes) to my ears, in my room (and every other room that I've done the comparison). YMMV

I've never got on with mass loaded stands either

Tried a fair few including Cliff Stone Foundation, Target R series etc with lots of different speakers and rooms, but always come back to open frame ones, the lighter the better imo.

For me mass loading always messes up the Bass. While it initially seems deeper/tighter it takes on a one note quality, and just sounds all wrong to me.

That is not my experience and neither was it for an enthusiast who came round to hear my system last month. While having a bit of a job to come round to the different presentation of Cubes, bass was one of the aspects of performance he was complementary about.

There are so many variables, more than the floor and the room, that there is not one all embracing solution. I think source components have a part to play and whether they are analogue or digital.

Individual experiences are just that. Do what works for you.

I thought Blu Tack was OK until I started using oak cones. I thought oak cones were best until I tried the Isoacoustics pucks. I thought heavy metal stands were OK until I tried open frame / wooden stands. I didn't think there was anything wrong with my TV picture until HD came out, etc etc. I just used my ears. Your ears are your own.

Going back to heavy metal and blu tack, I hear one note bass, slightly out of focus mids and closed in treble. Both boring and fatiguing. It's all highly relative, of course, but once you hear it...

Cubes on a heavy metal stand will still whip any small driver, ported speaker on any stand, imo.

YMMV
