Have not had anything like this in Cardiff for many years. Don't think I will be venturing out today. :epopc:

Quite rare in Suffolk and (having grown up in Hertfordshire in the 60's - memories of being carried through drifts in '63 I think it was or perhaps earlier) have quite missed a decent snow fall. Apparently a snow plough got stuck near by, could only happen in England, only about four inches of snow!

I took the dog out this morning, wind blowing snow across the fields, absolutely beautiful and no one else about. My nine year old staffie really enjoyed it, behaving like a puppy - running like mad and doing barrel rolls at high speed in to small drifts (the dog that is  :animals-dogrun: ).

Looking forward to a few more days of it, I just dislike the dirty slush when it all melts.

Rarely get it in Cardiff, although it is often visible on the near by hill tops. I have vague memories of 1963. This will be my gran daughter's first experience.

I remember the snow of 63 seemed to last forever. Massive drifts, I was living in Wolverhampton then.
Here it is windy which is causing deep drifts.
My neighbours return from South Africa this afternoon....are they in for a shock!
Doubt if they will be able to get up the hill to our lane though. We only just managed it yesterday and it's got a lot worse since then.

Crikey - just seen the weather forecasts for Wales/West Country. Seems like what we have in Suffolk is just a light dusting in comparison to what is due when the two weather systems converge tomorrow.

Keep safe chaps.

Here in Holland we have the cold wind coming straight down from Siberia. Temperature is minus 10 tonight with the wind-chill taking it down to around minus 20

Still looks like that.

The Dutch are skating mad - as soon as it freezes they're out on the ice.
