Its just a sheet of unetched PCB, make for easy building onto a ground plain. The RF guys do it all the time.

Re: Building a DIY amp with NVA amplifier boards
I did one of those about 10 years ago, about 5 years ago Marco got hold of a picture and flounced it all over AoS saying look how NVA is built. I think all of us have done at least breadboarded versions of circuits, but hardwiring like that is a nightmare - ooooh my brain hurts just thinking about doing it again.

Stu leave the amp on all the time, it still has some running in to do.

Much as I would like to experiment with these NVA amp circuit boards I realise that Richard is not going to make them available to all and sundry.
Does anyone know if these "knock off" supposedly NVA copy boards on Ebay are anything like the real thing ?

Re: Building a DIY amp with NVA amplifier boards
'Fraid not.
And if you don't want to fall out with me I would not discuss copy rip-off circuit boards here. It has become a Chinese thing, and bloody disgraceful. You can get Naim and just about every other name amp PCB, they are all crap. There used to be a direct copy of our original hand laid PCBs on sale at eBay. For me that would have been useful as I get very early amps for repair and I have to replace both boards, so ordered one for a repair I had. As soon as switched on the DC offset went through the roof and the board burnt out. Others have said the same about the Chinese copy boards - they are a scam.

I seem to remember you actually purchased some (probably years ago) so you know, but there are several different "knock offs" on the internet.

Re: Building a DIY amp with NVA amplifier boards
There are very specific things about the NVA circuit you cannot copy as they are not apparent, so all boards made by someone else will be out of spec even grossly as the one I got that just burnt out and I mean burnt out, flames and magic smoke.
