Went for a meal tonight at the local Beefeater and a section was set aside for valantines.. Apart from us there was only one other couple, it was like the Mary Celeste.

Lost its appeal a long time ago in this house lol, an American tradition just like trick or treat that ought to stay in America.

I sometimes wonder how long it will be before we start celebrating "thanksgiving" whatever the hell that is.

Bah Humbug!.

Valentines day is just another slurp. Buy a card, flowers and go out for a meal. Flower sellers put their prices up. Before you know it, it has cost you an arm and a leg. Slurp, slurp, slurp as the Doc would say.

Yeah, just another "commercial day " specifically for slurp including Father's Day, Mother's Day et al. We do not recognise this shit in our household, but do fondly celebrate birthdays and anniversaries that matter to our family.

I tell my wife how I feel about her every day. I absolutely am not going to be forced into accepting some bullshit commercial celebration. Everything is so fucking commercial now. Christmas is ruined too. Although that may be partly because I learned that Santa isn't real

I wish they would put an end to all the slurp days including Christmas. Tempted to go away earlier next winter and avoiding it in this country.

Went on an IMechE tour of a chocolate factory with my beloved on Valentines Day. The tour was fully attended (+/- 1) and we both enjoyed it a lot. Great evening out.

They used to make 33 million Easter Eggs per year. They're down to about 13 million now.
