Re: Led Zeppelin
I like the Who a lot as well. They also had a great drummer. Prefer Zep though.

Re: Led Zeppelin
I have tried and tried. I really wanted to like them the odd song like Kashmir grips me. Obviously fantastic musicians but just don't do it for me. I got into music seriously about 76 so was carried along with punk and later new wave and ska.

Re: Led Zeppelin
At this point, JP comes in with a break that’s one of my most spine tingling musical moments I’ve ever experienced. God knows how many times I’ve heard it in the last 46 years, nothing will ever diminish it._D_S_J_R_ wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2017 10:58 am "Leaves are falling all around
It's time I was on my way
Thanks to you I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay
But now it's time for me to go
The autumn moon lights my way
For now I smell the rain
And with it pain
And it's headed my way
Ah, sometimes I grow so tired
But I know I've got one thing I got to do
Ramble on
And now's the time, the time is now
To sing my song
I'm goin' 'round the world, I got to find my girl
On my way
I've been this way ten years to the day
Ramble on
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams
Got no time for spreadin' roots
The time has come to be gone
And though our health we drank a thousand times
It's time to ramble on"

Re: Led Zeppelin
I learned to play drums by playing along with John Bonham on headphones. Get the levels right and you can hear both.
I was always intrigued by his bass drum technique - in parts it was like he had a double peddle. Took a bit of mastering but the key is to not play with your heel down and use the spring of the kick pedal to your advantage. Bonzo was a big Mowtown fan.
I could liten to John Paul Jones all day long. Such melodic bass lines. And Jimmy Page is a genius too. They will always be my favourite band of all time.
