Just spent a week in a cottage at Reighton near Filey. Highly exotic. Only rained yesterday  Avoided dirty people as much as possible, took our own food every day when we went out. Got some vinyl in Scarborough. Went as far North as Robin Hood's Bay - I love that place.

What a coincidence. I just arrived back to London this evening. Spent a week in Wilberfoss just outside York.

Was up in Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby on Thursday when the sun was out. Had lunch at the Fish Box, with a gloriuos view.

We went Thursday as well. Might have seen you.

It's a lovely view from this fish box and it's a good place for a breather after walking up that hill. On the way down to the bay in the car there is a blind little hill and my kids thought that when we got over the top we would land in the sea. I tend to like the quieter more scenic places but everywhere seems too busy since covid. It will have a long lasting effect on me and probably many others.

Robin Hood's Bay is one of my favourite places too. We used to visit quite often when we lived up that way (near Helmsley.)
You can't beat fish & chips sitting looking at the sea!

What are the chances. Would have loved to say hi. It was a much needed getaway.

Kids throughly enjoyed the trip. Took them for a hike in the Howardian Hills the day before. Love the outdoors away from the crowds.

It's a good place to look for fossils along that coastline. Didn't find any this time though

I think you were right to be cautious. We wanted to holiday in Wales where it is safer but could not find anything suitable which was not extortianetly priced. Ended up booking a hotel at the English Riviera but decided to cancel before the payment went through. We don't fancy being in indoor settings where face masks are not compulsory in the presence of young unvaccinated people. My stepson who lives in England going down with Covid a few days ago influenced our decision. We might reconsider the holiday situation next month when the schools go back and there will be less risk. We live near some nice destinations and had a good day at the sea side yesterday when the weather was nice.

It is a similar situation with live music, tickets for bands I would see are going on sale but I am not buying any. Have rescheduled concerts in April and May and will see how things are then. If proof of double jabs is not required I might seek refunds.
