Re: Anudder Phono Stage Bake-off
So much for the friendly forum. I'm sure something else can be arranged when things calm down. This behaviour is likely being encouraged by someone in an influential position at AOS. Best to stay away from that forum and make announcements re bake offs elsewhere.

Such good advice.TerryMadher wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2017 11:28 pm
Of course, do your own bake off. Stick to your intentions, proceed with your planning and never succumb to the bullies.

Re: Anudder Phono Stage Bake-off
I can't find the relevant thread on AoS any more?
From what other people have said in this thread, is it something that someone said on AoS that led to this bake-off being cancelled? If so I don't understand. Why should whatever anyone says or thinks over there stop anyone from going ahead and hosting a bake-off?
Having said that, at the end of the day, hosting any bake-off is entirely up to the host. If they want to host it, go ahead. If they don't, don't.

Shame, had the makings of a great wee meet with 2 guys that are straight up that are accepted across the forums,
with a few new members committing to attend, new ear, new environment and new take, opportunity lost??, definitely,
i think Jayman and Ian should reconsider, let it cool just now and contact the others in due course,
no announcement prior to it and maybe a wee write up afterwards as 'afternoon at such an such...'be interesting reading.

Re: Anudder Phono Stage Bake-off
Sorry to (very slightly) hijack this, everyone.
I'm interested in doing more to promote and facilitate bake-offs. I have an idea for a bake-off society and blog. A purely social project, no advertising, not for profit.
It would be great to get everyone's views, so if you haven't already seen this thread, please have a look and give me any input you can: https://hifisubjectivist.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=48625
Every input valued. No idea is a bad idea...
Back on-topic; very sorry, on a personal level, to hear about the hassle experienced by Jayman and Ian.

Thanks. Found it. And having read it, something smells bad about this.
It's up to Ian and Jamie if they want to publish the emails / PM's that they've received. In the meantime the rest of us can speculate as to who said what to them.

Re: Anudder Phono Stage Bake-off
you have it wrong there mate, the emails were sent from other members on aos to firebottle and arkless warning them of me. ive been called richard dunns glove puppet publicly ,the emails refered to me as an acolyte and to be wary of me,strangely both firebottle and arkless pulled of loaning ian and i their stages.to be fair to firebottle though, he later changed his opinion.

Re: Anudder Phono Stage Bake-off
So why not go ahead with the bake-off without the Firebottle and Arkless stages? It's not as if the Firebottle ones are best of breed at the moment anyway.
And that is just as bad, possibly worse. Sending malicious gossipy emails about you to Firebottle and Arkless.
Whoever called you Richard Dunn's glove puppet can fuck right off.
