Doc asked: Anyone in Preston or nearby. I'm in Southport about half an hour or so from Preston.

Let's pray DQ's attack was caught quickly - the prospects are much better if it was so.

Such things are a real bugger in life. Fortunately, there's quite a bit of support out there for stroke sufferers although it can be troublesome to find it.

I think Classic is popping around as he is working in Preston next week. We want to get his hi-fi working so Mrs DQ can learn to use it to play him music. PM Classic and make sure it will happen for him.

Sad news and a reminder that we should not take anything for granted. I hope DQ makes a speedy and full recovery. If it helps there is stroke.org.uk. Their head office is a few minutes from my office. I'm perfectly happy to visit them on your behalf if necessary.

Shocking news. Can I just echo the feelings of everyone who has already posted.

Best of luck DQ and family.

I'm hoping for a good outcome once things have settled down.
I think I might be in the HiFi trade.
I am not currently seeking treatment for this.

Doc has got me confused with someone else going to Preston. I'm about 31/2 - 4 hours away.

What terrible news. Happened to a friend a couple of years ago but well-managed meds and recuperation has all but restored him although it took some time. Best wishes to himself and his family.
