I might be able to get you a used MacBook but thats an Apple and you may have aproblem with that

She wont as she see the brand image where as I run from brand images. Whether she can use it I don't know, it seems to me at the moment the simpler the better. She uses Google all the time so a Chromebook could be the solution. But you never know if she sees the little apple symbol and.......

Lenovo do one for around £230 and the Celeron processor is more than fast enough for office functions - comes with Win 8.1 but you can upgrade to W10 for free ( until june) while setting it up. Win 10 is excellent - Martin T is right on this one.

Actually the one with Win 10 on is cheaper less than £200

The Asus model I mentioned has an 11.6" screen and is 160 pounds at Amazon UK. Has also received many recommendations.

Comes in flashy colours too !!
