Very Intresting thread Doc + kazam ! I own a pair of Allison six's myself and am completely happy with them (for now until a upgrade bug begins to itch) the fact the drivers are changeable with doc mod drivers is good to know what i would like to know is did you have them up and running in the original form before the mods to gauge a then and now experience of the speakers ?
The LARGE print giveth - and the small print taketh away.

You can make a very simple test for my ideas to help show you. Just unbolt a bass driver from one of them and pull out ALL the stuffing, then listen and compare with the other. It will be easy to put back as was.

+1. Just de-wadding a speaker can really improve it. Also it is a reversable no-risk procedure.

.. well to be honest, I didn't devote the time to do a fair comparison- on the whole I find it a challenge to compare two options by switching channels and really do need time to reflect over options. Both sounded fine on a quick comparison. Given that I can currently only proceed with the SEAS option, that's what it'll be. I believe that the SEAS in question here is a 25 tffc..
