Thorens TT Comparison
Re: Thorens TT Comparison
I wouldn't assume that the Jico sounds the same; to my ears they are a bit 'tipped up', brighter than the originals. But at least they exist, and they seem well-made.
The V15 series were great cartridges; pity some of us didn't have the sense to realise it at the time. These days I prefer moving iron and some MM cartridges to the general run of MCs.

Re: Thorens TT Comparison
My problem with them was compliance. Things were going the wrong way, it was yet another bullshit foisted on us to go for lower and lower tracking weight, higher compliance lower mass, less solidity. All wrong IMO.

Re: Thorens TT Comparison
I can confirm the Voyd TT is very good I almost bought one before the SME30 if I was looking for an affordable TT I'd consider either a Roksan Xerxes, Pink Triangle or possible a Pioneer PL71.

Re: Thorens TT Comparison
I dont think im going to continue my quest with Turntables guys. Id rather buy a very good CD player, I use my CD player all the time and the TT just sits there.
Will post it on classifieds.

I know many people on here will say look at the older Sony machines which I am sure are very good but Densen players occasionally come on the market second hand and are extremely musicalAshM750. wrote:But I want better!Fretless wrote:Then you already have a very good CD player
