That would completely negate what we are trying to do.
Why?
Are you mass loading the enclosures only?

Simply there is couple and decouple - absorb or transmit. Why mix them, illogical. The Doc mods are about coupling energy, no mechanical capacitors. You are advocating introducing them, so completely against Doc mod principles.

I see. Fair enough. I hadn't read all the info. I'll try your theories out one of these days on some speakers I can afford to scrap if necessary.
The internal bracing could still be an option but I can see the absorbing sheet contradicts the idea.

Hi Ash,
How is it going with the Genexxa monitors? I'm curious.
I am considering a cheap pair of Audiolab Minax-CD speakers for a mod experiment. They are little boxes made by a Dutch company and have a thick glass plate as the top cover of the cabinet. Still pondering.

Glass plate above a certain thickness which I would say is min 15 to 20 mm is an extremely good (but very heavy) material for speaker cabinets. Similar to acrylic but harder with a higher (and less internally damped) resonant frequency. I thought at one stage before I went to acrylic to try glass but the problems involved were too great.
Hi Fretless, Ive got the kit, I just need to make time to build them. I have recieved my LS6, SSP and P50sa now so been playing with that the last couple of days. Get modding again, I cant wait to build them. Ile keep you updated.
