CD Transport ?

Unread post by AshM750. »

Hi all,

I currently have a CYRUS CDXT transport (used with Eastern Electrics DAC) and has served its purpose well, but I have never compaired it with anything else other than stand alone cd players like Rega planet and Arcam FMJ CD17 with there built in DACs which did not compare really. I did also try a Audiolab MDAC for a few months but wasnt impressed. I like the idea of the cyrus because is small and fits perfect in my cabinet and was thinking maybe get the next model up in the future.

This is more for future reference but is it worth sticking with the Cyrus or would you upgrade ? Whats peoples experiances with CD Transports ?

Thanks in advance
Ash

This is a really good little thing for the money. Goes cheap because it is under the radar and people don't realise how good it is. At that price snap it up and sell the Cyrus on ebay for a profit.

Digital interconnect is only a single cable, not so expensive - takes signal from transport to dac.

Sorry some how the link didn't go in.

Relooking at your post you want a transport, this is a player. It belonged to a midi type system with amp and everything in same style box. BUT the CD player was excellent, but not sure it can be used as a transport.

There are things out there (mostly Japanese) under the radar that are excellent and sell for peanuts on ebay.

I use a Richer Sounds special made in the late 90's in Taiwan in my test system. You can buy them at ebay for £20 - £30 and they are giant killers.
