Had my parents had a say in my naming, I'd have been Dafydd Owain, or some variation of such. As it was, a dear and very beloved aunt insisted on my name as registered, in memory of one of her brothers who played a key role in my mother's early life

You should be learning Scottish Gaelic Jammy. Doric is just a pidgin English. Sounds nice though!

Fascinating the difference with Welsh Gaelic, you can see the same root but the structure and words are different.
