I'm forever changing my music streamer and came across this company who are quite obviously planning to go for the Sonos market.

Initialy they are making boomboxes but they do have a Sonos:connect alternative planned along with hires support upto 24/192. Its a Kickstarter project so if they get the funding it may turn to reality and I'll have to buy one :D

A bit of investigation shows that this is based on Qualcom Allplay software (or 'platform' as they like to say). On the face of it, the functionality is similar to JRiver - however, of course, this is a software development kit and others have to build the interface to it - i.e. the bit that selects/stops/starts/and so on - the music. I wonder what other products based on Allplay there are?

There are a few links to videos of the CES hidden on the web site which show a few products, seems like quite a few manufactures are signing up to Allplay so a "open" system is always good.
