Belt drive Pro-Ject RPM 9.1 into push pull Jolida amp into ported mid-sized Triangle speakers.
Either, there's a bit of product placement going on. Or they wanted to create a character that has the sort of hi-fi system where they think they know a lot about hi-fi, but in reality don't know a lot at all. A pseuds system instead of a system for someone that's really into hi-fi in a big way.

I didn't spot the speakers. However, there could be a thread in this for hi-fi in films and TV - Inspector Morse. Wallander. There must be a few more.
The hifi in The Mechanic plays a bit of a starring role - catching fire at the end!

If you wanted a turntable to be part of a booby trap for a booby trap savvy victim, I wouldn't choose something as simple and bare as the Pro-Ject. Something like a Thorens TD 224 would be far better for that purpose.
