Well, I spent a couple of hours comparing the DPA PDM1, PDM1 series 2, Meridian 203 DAC7 Theta DS Pro Prime and the built in one in the Micromega Leader ( a Duo BS).
Rather than write a review, I thought I'd just say what I learned.
All of them sound different tonally.
All of the I could live with
The Micromega's internal DAC is as good as any of them
The only real musical improvement was when I ditched the Wadia coax lead and used Soundpipe.
I would have enjoyed the two hours more just listening to music instead of swapping boxes
I'll be spending the next few hours listening to music
Tidying up after messing about with kit and wires is no fun
