Re: FoTF big old Goodmans
These are what I just bought for £18.99
Nice big 12 inch bass drivers in sealed cabs. The bass drivers alone if I took them out and sold them on ebay I would get about £50 each.

Re: FoTF big old Goodmans
Change of plan. Will collect the Goodmans Magister on Thursday. Had to stay in today looking out for parcels
I'm really looking forward to hearing the Goodmans Magister Speakers. Been reading plenty postive comments on them!
I know a chap that happened to have heard the Magister Speakers back in the 70s. He said they sound ''Big'' but very good. My 50w int amp will have no worries driving those big bears.

The Magisters are now in my home. They are BIG!!!
Very musical speakers. Fun and BIG sounding!
I'm very impressed, looks like the Magisters are staying for a little while.

I like speakers that sound fun and big, especially when they cost almost nothing.
Can you remind us what speakers you're comparing them against Shane? Any sonic weaknesses to the Magisters, compared to your existing speakers?

I'm not good at doing this. But I'll try.Lindsayt wrote:I like speakers that sound fun and big, especially when they cost almost nothing.

To me, the Magisters sound like a ''bigger version'' of my Mordaunt Short Pageant Series II Speakers. But more musical and slightly more cleaner.
I also have Royd Minstrel Speakers. The Royds have FAR less slam and bass than the Magisters. To me, the Royds are FAR more detailed and lucid than the Magisters.
Sorry that I can't give you a professional feedback.

Shane I understand your opinion on your speakers far more clearly than if it had been done by a so called professional reviewer , i can assure you of that .

It's this lack of confidence that is taken advantage of by the egotist experts (not).
