When I was looking at retail outlets for second hand I could only get anything reasonable round the £200 mark. On ebay I think you are taking a bit of a chance, but that's life. I think it would be interesting to try out a DD turntable so up to the £200 limit seems reasonable. As you say there is no certainty that I will be convinced but it is worth a go.

There were no good direct drives in the dealers, the industry was corrupt and bullshit back then. If there was a good one they dare not sell them or they lost their Linn agencies. Guy you are not that far away, bring your Linn around, you will be in for a shock. We have done this before ask Lindsay.

Got a Hitachi HT-350. A reasonably cheap DD which should be able to give a comparison with my belt drive decks, maybe not "dead scientific "but interesting none the less.
Are there any fettling tips for when I get it .
