When I was looking at retail outlets for second hand I could only get anything reasonable round the £200 mark. On ebay I think you are taking a bit of a chance, but that's life. I think it would be interesting to try out a DD turntable so up to the £200 limit seems reasonable. As you say there is no certainty that I will be convinced but it is worth a go.

Hi Doc,

Appologies for the delay in replying.
Thanks for your kind and generous offer, I would love to come and compare.
I may not be able to take you up on it for a couple of months (very busy at the moment - marking, writing courses etc), If I come up with a few possible dates we could liaise on a suitable date?

Would it be ok with you to make a bit of an event of it (I don't like the phrase "bake off") and invite any other forum members who are interested to come as well. I would quite like to put some faces to names and listen to a range of decks. If agreeable with you we could bring a few bites to eat and make it a bit of a social
(I look forward to your response; as long as you are not very rude and reply FFS  )

All the best. Guy

Got a Hitachi HT-350. A reasonably cheap DD which should be able to give a comparison with my belt drive decks, maybe not "dead scientific "but interesting none the less.
Are there any fettling tips for when I get it .
Thanks all
