Re: Film recommendations.
Watched Prometheus last night on Blu Ray. An enjoyable enough couple of hours of sci-fi nonsense. Found myself sitting there picking holes in the numerous technical impossibilities. If you're going to make a film like this, you might as well use some imagination and make it technically possible. Things like spaceships with gravity in them acting in a direction 90 degrees to the direction it actually should be. Carbon based life forms being immune to the effects of being shot multiple times. Faster than light interstellar space travel being developed on Earth by 2090. Spaceships accelerating when they should be decelerating. Life forms breaking the laws of conservation of mass - ie highly rapid growth with no apparent source of food to provide the mass for such growth...

Once Upon A Time In Anatolia
This is a chalk and cheese film. You'll either enjoy it or hate it. It reminded me a little bit of a Sean Connery film from the early 70's where he's a policeman in south Wales that beats up a suspect.
I thought that this film was well shot. It looked like it could have been filmed in the moors between Oldham and Huddersfield. It made a nice change from the Die Hard type Hollywood action and police films. Unlike Prometheus, everything that happened in this film was plausible.

Re: Film recommendations.
Two films starring the superb Brendan Gleeson - The first is a terrific black comedy called The Guard, also starring Don Cheadle, and the second is In Bruges, another black comedy that pairs Gleeson with Colin Farrell, who is acting for once rather than just fighting and blowing things up.
