whilst i'd love it if Ste was short for Stephanie and its was Ms Toy , I doubt it . There'd be a few heart attacks on pfm if some of those idiots found out they'd been arguing with a women for years .

There do seem to be activities and interests where females are very much in the minority. Online kill the opposition computer games, going to watch professional football matches, DIY car mechanics, hi-fi. I think it's mostly down to social conditioning.

Hi-fi is a funny one, because almost everyone, male and female enjoys listening to music. It's just that males seem to be more inclined to get into the equipment side of listening to music.

Hi-fi does seem to attract a relatively high proportion of obsessive types. The sort that score highly on Aspergers tests.

When males describe their auditioning of hifi gear the following phrases are often included ... "even my better half could tell the difference between equipment A or equipment B" .. "even my wife noticed a difference while preparing the dinner in the kitchen, noting that the sound was much fuller"
