PA50sa and A70

Unread post by jamesyao »

Hi Richard,

I received PA50sa and A70 mono power amp. Thanks

I have questions below because I have not set up yet.

1) For PA50sa, which side is minmum volume position, left side or right ?

2) A70 power amp I received can meet 220V or 240v eelectric power from wall socket?

Please advice. Thanks

Unless I made a goof on the wiring it is the same as all volume controls it turns up volume by turning it clockwise, from L to R.

There are two tappings on the transformer 100-120v and 220-240v and your is set to 220-240v.

Hi Richard,

The PA50sa and A70 have been running around 8 hours, they performed more detail and bass compare with my previous system (Onix per amp, power amp system), the 2nd day was performing better than 1st day, but still not reach what I expect. I believe they need more time to run to perform better.

Now I am running 12 years old CD player. Do you know which CD player (brand and model) more suit for NVA amps? If you have this kind of information, please advice.

Regards

James

Thank you sir for your recommendation.

900 pounds cost is over my budget, my budget is less 500 pounds. Do you think DAC will be workable?

Hi Sir,

Thanks for your information. Do you think change CD player will get more benifit than change speaker?

Well James, that would depend on what the player is. Just because it's 12 years old doesn't mean it's no good, I had a Tube Technology Fusion which was that age and I haven't heard anything better, (that I could afford). What player do you own now?
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Benz Micro Gullwing SLR, Phono 2, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)
